Summer Road is the story of twenty-six year old Cynthia Ahrens, a young woman who has just about given up on her dreams. When she’s suddenly and unjustly fired from her teaching position in Seattle, Cynthia is sent into a spiral of worry and self-doubt. She leaves her boyfriend, takes a job as a loan officer at a bank, and resigns herself to living a boring and lonely existence.

But Cynthia’s best friend Sadie isn’t about to stand by and let her throw her life away. She challenges her to apply for a teaching job in her town (3015 miles away from Seattle in Brookstone, Massachusetts) and reclaim the spirit that was lost a school-year before.

Faced with anxieties at a magnitude she’s never experienced, Cynthia embarks on a road-trip beyond the 3015 road miles and into an entirely new life. Even with Sadie’s steadfast optimistic encouragement, the stir of new romance with a handsome stranger named Mitch, and the school that welcomes her with open arms, Cynthia’s journey still isn’t complete until she has conquered something within herself.

Can Shelby balance the start of a new school year, solve the mystery of the dead coach, and fight off an undeniable romance with the town's former football star and new coach?
